Our first stop will be Grandad Jacks This guided distillery tour will introduce you to the gin-making process and the Gold Coast’s thriving craft spirit culture. Enjoy a gin and tonic on arrival and tastings of our award-winning spirits and liqueurs as you are guided through the distillery and introduced to the history of Granddad Jack, the processes involved in making our beloved spirits and given a behind the scenes tour of our family-owned distillery.
A short drive will bring us to the Brisbane Distillery Company is new and exciting, but we’re also staying True to our Roots. We make our liquors using pure, natural Queensland ingredients, taking inspiration from the history and heritage of our great state. So, what better icon to put at the heart of our logo than The Old Windmill in Brisbane? One of the oldest landmarks in Queensland, it was built by convicts to grind grain for the colony but was also a communications tower. The time ball on its mast helped navigators down in the port set their instruments, it had Brisbane’s first telegraph machine, and later became a radio and television broadcast tower. Just like the old mill, Brisbane Distillery Company is rooted in Queensland but connected to the rest of the world
Not too far up the road we find ourselves at Milton Rum Distillery brings a lifetime of history and tradition together with new techniques and fresh passion. Using traditional techniques, rectifying distillation columns, and the latest innovations we’ve perfected the craft to create our own award-winning spirits. Milton Rum is a small team of passionate distillers, makers and rum fans and we hope you’ll come on this journey with us as we reimagine the rum scene and craft spirits like no other. From here you can kick on at the Malecon Bar (where the distillery is situated) or get dropped back in the city.
For various reasons distilleries may not be able to take us on the day and we reserve the right to be flexible with your itinerary and change venues without notice. Look things happen! But don’t worry there will still be plenty of beer and good times
